  • There is a black spot near the tail. 
  • An adult fish can grow up to 25cm in length. 
  • Ambanganga lives in the rocky streams of the Dumbara Hills where the Mahaweli River begins.
  • Endemic to Sri Lanka.
  • Important in the local commercial fishing industry
